The Financial Administration Introduces New Telephone Connections. The Era of “Hidden Numbers” Is Officially Over.
We strive to make communication with the Financial Administration as user-friendly as possible. One of the key and long-requested benefits of this telecommunication modernization is the ability for the public to easily return missed calls from tax administrators,” said Simona Hornochová, Director General of the Financial Administration of the Czech Republic.
The Financial Administration of the Czech Republic is modernizing its telecommunication services and transitioning to a new IP telephony system. This change will completely replace outdated telephone exchanges, which offered the public only two inconvenient options when contacting the authorities – either a "hidden number" or a mobile GSM gateway number, which could not be called back. The cost of this new level of comfort for callers is a gradual change in phone numbers across all financial offices and workplaces, driven by the necessary shift to a national prefix (9531) and a re-numbering of lines nationwide. However, the new phone numbers offer increased technical reliability, greater clarity through a unified number structure, and an overall simplification of how the public contacts the tax offices.
To ensure maximum comfort for the public, the original telephone numbers will remain operational for a transitional period. They will feature an automated voice message informing the caller of the new contact number for the appropriate tax office and will direct them to clear and accessible information on the official website of the Financial Administration.
On the website, the following will be available in a clear format:
the name of the financial office and local branch,
both the original and the new phone number,
the date from which the new number is active.
Online support will also include a simple search tool for new telephone numbers, allowing anyone to easily find the contact information they need. The full list of new phone numbers will be available on the Financial Administration website starting July 7.
This change is part of a broader digital transformation aimed at increasing the comfort, security, and accessibility of public services provided by the Financial Administration.
